We fell in love with Portuguese Podengo Pequeno, the wire-haired variety in 2003. Our first PPP-WH was “ a local boy”, bred here in San Diego: Bruno da Casa de Maio. He is our “first love — a great family pet and a good protector of our home. He was also very successful in the show ring, winning Best Puppy in Show in his very first show at only 4 months old. He went on to become an ARBA Master Champion and was the 1st American Bred dog to to so.

In 2004 Uvinha do Vale Negro came from Portugal to join the clan. She is a very pretty little girl who is very devoted to the family & she & Bruno adore one another.

She is also an ARBA champion.

We have had one litter, a singleton puppy, Andre de Ping. We loved him so much we couldn’t bear to part with him, so he is the 3rd member of our happy podengo family! Next litter we must have more self-control!
